Stolen Motor Vehicle

If your vehicle is stolen please report the theft to the local police station immediately, then:

• call 0800 123 344
• complete a vehicle theft online claim form or
• download a claim form

Windscreen claims

For windscreen or other car glass damage you can:

• Call Smith & Smith direct on 0800 80 90 80.

As our recommended supplier for automotive glass, Smith & Smith provide a 24 hour claims service and will manage the entire claim process for you.

Windscreen Extension

If your current policy schedule or renewal includes the optional windscreen extension and there is no other damage to your vehicle then the following will not be subject to deduction of the policy excess or loss of no claim bonus:

• claims for breakage of windscreens
• window glass
• glass-sunroofs
• headlights and headlight protectors
• or tail lights sustained

Remember repairing a windscreen is much easier than replacing one. If you have a broken windscreen try to attend to it immediately, as it can often be repaired rather than replaced.

Excess

The excess is the amount you have to contribute towards your claim.  Your Certificate of Insurance will state your basic policy excess. Additional excesses can apply depending on the age and licence details of the driver of your vehicle.

• No claim bonus (rating) - Your no claims bonus may be affected if you are responsible for the collision or if you cannot identify the responsible party.

Claims Against You

If another party involved in the collision contacts you, please advise Ansvar Insurance immediately.

We still require a claim notification from you even if there is no damage to your vehicle.

Please do not make any admissions of liability and don't attempt to settle any claims made against you without contacting us first.
